Most of the attacks occurred in the early hours of the morning, during which the victims were beaten and robbed.
All information on the attacks is attributed to the Chicago Police Department Records.
In addition to this series of muggings in the Lincoln Park area, a number of other crimes were committed that were under close investigation by the Chicago Police. Four strong-arm robberies, also occurring in the Lincoln Park neighborhood in late July and early August, were believed to be linked by the police.
All four victims of the robberies were men in their early to mid-20s and walking alone. Each was confronted on foot from behind by at least four attackers, who were also men in their 20s. The victims were asked for their wallets, then savagely beaten in the head and face. Two of the victims were hospitalized.
As of March 31, 2010, no arrests have been made in connection with these muggings and robberies.
