Andrew Huff has been blogging since 2001, and is the co-founder of the Chicago-based Web site Gapers Block, which has been running since 2003. Huff also has a personal blog called me3dia.com.

Huff touched on a variety of topics concerning blogging during his visit to class, including founding Gapers Block and doing freelance writing work for a number of organizations as a result of his blogging. Huff originally started his online writing career by sending out a frequent e-mail newsletter to friends and family, then soon decided to start his own blog, which at the time was quite a new phenomenon.

Eventually, Huff met local Chicago bloggers who shared similar interests in reporting and posting information on events around the city of Chicago. This fledgling group of bloggers had heard of other blogs based in other cities around the country that pointed out interesting events around town and took a vested interest in creating something similar.
